The Brief

Cambrewood are a family business specialising in vintage furniture who were seeking an upgrade to their website. They wanted the feel of a friendly shop where the customer can enter and browse furniture with the freedom often associated with delving through an old antique store for unusual artefacts.

Objectives

  • Design a bespoke UI style
  • Create a user-friendly e-commerce platform
  • Develop a product search feature
  • A fully responsive website
  • Deliver the website on WordPress

The Blueprint

Our team got cooking on designs straight away and created mockups that played on space and clarity. The goal of this creative phase was to find ways to entice the user to explore the many categories and products on offer. Sumptuous browns and seductive reds were carefully selected to cast the vintage spell.

The Build

Getting the e-commerce platform just right was a key goal for our developers who looked at making the process seamless for both the shopkeeper and customer. An advanced search feature was built into the shop which would traverse all products and their respective categories.

The Bringing Together

Seeing the design come to life on a CMS was exciting, and we got to be the first customers to rummage through the many attractive products, filling our shopping baskets on the way. Sadly all purchases were for testing purposes only, but worthwhile as we managed to catch some bugs on the user journey.

The Result

Like proud parents watching their fledgeling take flight into the world wide web, we are confident of its success. We won’t abandon things at launch date, however, as we will guide the site by the hand with premium support and guidance for the Cambrewood team.
