The Brief

Cambridge Timber Buildings have a first-class reputation in the design, manufacture and installation of quality garden buildings that compliment gardens in Cambridgeshire. They approached Red Alien for a new website to exhibit their products in the form of a portfolio.

The Groundwork

During our discussions with Cambridge Timber Buildings it transpired that their current website had been limiting their ability to fully showcase their growing portfolio of garden buildings. We therefore set to mind-mapping designs which would give the client more freedom and control over their project pages.

The Blueprint

Our wireframes were all featuring the professional photos which Cambridge Timber Buildings supplied us with. The user journey was planned out in detail so that it would be strolling around a showroom with call to actions available for when the user wanted them.

The Build

When it was time to build the pages from the mockups, it became apparent that some images were landscape and others portrait and our developers had to come up with ways of showing both types on the services pages.

The Result

Building a website on a CMS is very much like building a garden room; you set the infrastructure for others to enjoy. Cambridge Timber Buildings are now able to grow their website alongside their thriving business.
